Born: 1964, Johannesburg, South Africa Dylan grew up in a flamboyant artistic environment where his late father was the famous sculptor Robin Lewis. Today Dylan is internationally recognized as one of the world’s most important contemporary sculptors of animals. In 1982 Lewis enrolled to study fine art at Cape Technicon in Cape Town. In 1985 he studied at Ruth Prowse School of Art. In 1995 Lewis represented South Africa at the Artist for Nature. Foundation Expedition. For twelve years Lewis focused on animal forms, particularly the large wild cat predators of Africa. In 2006 he turned his attention to the human figure.
