A painter of landscapes , still life, seascapes, figures and wildlife. Works in oil.
Mainly self-taught but during the early 1940’s studied at the Natal Technical College.
1940-47 a professional guitar player in night-clubs. During WWII joined the Natal Field Artillery. 1948 lived in Knysna; 1954 moved to Johannesburg. Established and an Art Gallery in Ramsgate, Natal. 1985-86 lived in Underberg, Natal; 1987 in Pietermaritzburg. Has lived and worked throughout SA and visited Madagascar in 1973.

1971 commissioned by the Johannesburg Turf Club to paint a painting of Turffontein Race Course for the Victoria Turf Club, Melbourne, Australia.
